Happy Mother's Day

It's Mother's Day & I'm very sad. Not because it's Mother's Day, that mommie bit is the greatest, really it is, it's just that soo much of everything has happened.
The good: Bregon gets to have his other close friend over for the first time since the field trip to the Times to see the press last year...
The trip that was sans Brandon because he was in NYC with his family...the trip he only slightly returned from before the trip to end all trips...
Come to find out their friend isn't taking Brandon's death very well, in fact he's in a bit of trouble.
Which is how he came to be at my house finally, where he probably ought to have been coming all along or so it sounds.
I have to try and help him and his Mom, really I do. If everything works out, I can get him into school with Bregon and he will have at least that to even things out a bit...
Yesterday was my niece's 8th birthday and the 5 one spent living away from her Mom. She did send her cookies...I brought the party so-to-say, but when you travel with a bouncy house in your trunk & have triplets it's easy to be a party on wheels...
The party was great...only I didn't realize, as none of ever really do, that I was happily waving to my little neighbors from when I was little for the very last time (hopefully just for one of them but we don't know yet.)
They would be in a horrible accident only minutes after pulling out of their driveway...It's hard not to post what I think on the notice page comments, but for the moment I'm keeping to here where I think it's safe.
I loved my little neighbors. In fact they are very nearly like family to me. I grew up with them always around, always waving to them, careful never to distract them when seeing them out & about driving...
He very sweetly brings my daddy the legal news when he's done reading it for the morning...every day for as long as I can remember he has done that. He did it yesterday, I'm quite sure of it.
Today is Mother's Day. I rarely if ever do anything for my Mother anymore on Mother's Day.
I'm just not the cemetery kind of girl (no peanut gallery on that one I know the irony must abound) but I just don't go if I don't have to.
But today, I'm thinking about taking Bregon for a visit. We will go the cemetery and I will park at one of the family plots, say hi, then hand over the keys to the mommie-van.
I'm going to teach him how to drive...the same exact way Mother taught me & I suspect her Mum taught her.
Nothing morbid, nothing creepy, but saying Hi while I'm there won't hurt a bit I don't think.
Besides they will most likely find the whole thing amusing. For now, I'm going to sit here and play with the babies until everyone else gets home.
