Mumsie's Little Make-up Artists

Posted by Vulnadia on Oct 08, 2008 at 10:15 AM Last week, husband and I had a promotion for our Haunted Attraction that was slated for early evening. We were forced to try and get ready while the babies were still very much awake and downstairs, and our babysitters would not arrive until just before we were to leave, so we had quite an audience! This meant that our dining room table was going to be our ground zero for all of the makeup. This is the very same very accessable dining room table that my little people love to climb up on and use for their train tracks and cars to race on! We were very sceptacle about the entire thing, but we practicality overruled and we spread everything out anyways and got to work on our make-up. Soon, Kaiden wandered over to check everything out. He had been up during our make-up demonstration night a few weeks ago, so he had already spent time in the make-up kit, playing with the pots of color, learning what the names for everything was. He knew exactly what we were doing, and expected to be allowed to help out in his own little person way. We gave him a clean brush, and he immediatly set out to help get my make-up started. Of course he preferred working on my knee because that is about all he could reach. Soon, his siblings joined in, demanding brushes as well. In fact, Vivie had to have more brushes and many different kinds of brushes than what everyone else had, so she had applicators too. Kai ended up with a brush that still had make-up on it, somehow. He was quite gleeful to be able to make such a difference, so he put some on himself as well. He had black streaks accross his face (very artfully I might add) and even had them running well up into his curly little hairline. We somehow managed to get ready for our promo, but the make-up kit is still being restocked as we find the missing pieces among the living room toys! It's been almost a week, and I am still finding brushes and applicators in the toy boxes! But, at least my kids are learning something new, and really quite useful if they become good at it one day!
