Chrismas Family Outing

Posted by Vulnadia on Dec 26, 2009 at 10:41 AM This past Tuesday, I decided that we needed some family time with the cousins. I very bravely picked up my 2 nieces and my nephew (who is only 9 months older than my own triplets) and headed out to see The Princess And The Frog. It was triplet-shock on them all because they had never been out in public with their cousins before! i was feeling brave so I let the triplets wear their backpack leashes and we went sans stroller for the very first time to the movies. We survived the long concession stand line only to discover that the ladies didnt manage to hear or ring up half our order. So, we took our 4 large popcorns and the first round of drinks and got our seats and sent poor Bregon back for the second wave. My nieces did NOT like the people behind us in line laughing at our predicaments of how to carry everything and manage excited 3yr olds, but what can I say? We get that often. Killian was very wide eyed and appalled over the other people's behaviour and gall in saying the things that they were about all of us. Anyways, we survived the movie pretty well considering there were 7 kids and 1 adult! The kids each shared their candy drinks and popcorn with each other. The little kids boogied in the aisle to the music. All in all it was a super successful movie experience for everyone! Next, I was feeling lucky, so we headed on over to the mall to see Santa and have a picture made for my Daddy for Christmas of all of his Grandbabies in one shot. I dont know how we did it, but we managed to be one of 2 families in line to see Santa at that very moment which was great considering the chaos of trying to get everyone talked to and seated for a picture! I looked up at one point to see Zoe had managed to talk Santa out of his hat and she was wearing it while discussing how good she had been and what she needed for Christmas. Vivienne had her Christmas Story moment because she felt she wasn't going to get her turn, so she literally vibrated as she stood her ground and finally blew her top screeching, "All I want for Christmas is a PURPLE PONY PRESENT!" and afterward she seemed to feel much better, poor dear. It was too too funny for words! We managed to get that picture and had to leave the mall when Zoe decided that she was going to have to have herself a makeover at Zoe's World! I decided that we should head for Kid City and get the kiddo energy out for a time, which was a huge novelty to my nieces and nephews! We played there for about an hour before heading to Wendy's drivethru for lunch. The lady thought I was joking when I ordered "7 chicken nugget kids meals with sprite, Please!" I was dead serious on that note, and those happy meals made all of my kiddos soo happy that it bought me 30 minutes of quiet time enough to run in the dollar store really quick! We had such a fun day making memories together! I can't wait to do another outing again!
