Potential Christmas Tree Problem

Posted by Vulnadia on Dec 18, 2009 at 08:23 AM Houston, I have a problem... I finally decided that its time to try & decorate the tree after kai has managed to leave it alone for almost a week now... & discovered that there is a HUGE gap between the middle layer and the bottom layer- apparently my bottom layer of the tree is sagging...now if i could land a package of nuts to go on the end of the screws i MIGHT be able to tighten them up & salvage the tree...but I just don't know yet... so in reality, i am probably in the market for a new tree...taking the trio out by myself & trying to tree shop is NOT going to be easy...to go incognito one must put them all in a buggy in some fashion...which means no room for stuff...which is okay because i can bat my eyelashes & try & get the store folk to help me...which has actually landed me bag-boy service at sams before strangely yet wonderfully enough... so does anyone know where i can land a 8 or 9ft tree for a decent price???preferably the lasting variety!!! ~mimi i really need to try & land a tall one too...a 9ft would be good- i have huge cathedral ceilings & normal sized full trees looked dwarfed in my living room because of it!!! am petrified- used to be very picky about trees...there was this gorgious huge one in front of krogers last week that screamed buy me...& maybe i should have- i was still in that lets wait & see what kai does before i do anything else stage... oddly enough kai didnt break the tree though- the entire top ring of the bottom tier is dropping simultaenously...in sync...scary...its uniform... if i could tighten the screws holding the branches into place i would be okay...which is what made me think of using nuts...can ya tell i REALLY like this tree? there was an okay one at wallyworld back when the season started, but it was funny colored...it was that dayglow green accent deal that happens for some reason... am gonna try & drag husband out to lowes & home depot with me this evening if we cant fix the tree- am hoping he will have nuts in his work trailer that will fit so i can at least experiment!!! thank you for the ideas!!! ~mimi
