The Woman Behind "Mom"

Posted by Vulnadia on May 12, 2010 at 09:26 AM How would you describe yourself OTHER THAN the "Mom" aspect of your life? Do you have other interests outside of mommyhood? Hobbies? Crafts? Special abilities? Things you love to do, Etc...... We're all Moms and that's been the main title of our lives since we each find out that we were pregnant for that very first time. But that's not all of who we are or what defines us. My kids are my life and always will be and a lot of who I am relates to being their mom. But there is more to me than just "Mom." Send to Friends Facebook Publish to a group Replies2 10870 posts by Vulnadia on May 13, 2010 at 12:28 PM I'm the mom who not only wears her combat boots proudly (& those are the mundane pair of boots that i have...i also have italian red patent leather ones like wonderwoman only shinier & prettier lol) but i am often found in some different clothing or other... its not unusual for my neices to come to me for access to the costume closet from the theater for this or that festival at school requiring garb...in fact one neice borrowed my pendragon leather bodice for ren-fest this past april..she is getting soo old!! the next week, i outfitted her for her hairspray number in choir... i'm the mom who lets their kids play with sharp pointy objects-not knives, but swords-my eldest started stage combat when he was 5...everyonen says its as if he was born with a sword in his hand literally -its a skill that has not only earned him money,but he has never run into another child his age who has a stage combat choreographer resume already...it gets him little paying gigs here & there...he also is a sport fencer for discipline's sake...& aspires to coach if nothing more one day so he always has something to fall back on lucrative...& doesnt end up elderly and as the walmart greeter of the future...(long story on that one)...my 4 yr olds look forward to their 5th birthday when they will each get their first blade & begin to learn to properly use it ... hmm what else...I'm a writer...for the stage...I also direct...& have had rather large casts..in fact i prefer shows that way actually...probably wont know what to do with a 3 person show, but I will have those soon enough, lol! what do you do for fun?? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Community Theater, Stage Work, Haunted Attractions, Shocktale Terror Show,GLP, Gas Light Players, Renaissance Festivals, Writing, Directing,Acting, Sewing, Literature, Art & Music.
