Boys Will Be Boys

Posted by Vulnadia on Oct 16, 2008 at 02:18 PM My baby boys are usually so cute together. I mean, they aren't identical or anything, and they aren't the peas in a pod that most folks would stereotype them as, but they can do some super cute things together in the name of siblinghood! In the mornings, just after having his britches changed, Kai usually wanders over to the car bin and digs out a few choice cars or choo-choo's to have breakfast with. It's cute because, once I get him into his seat and his tray snapped in place, he will turn to his brother and hand him something to play with as well. If one of the boys is hungrier than the other, either boy has no problem handing the hungry sibling some of his bites, too! They try and calm each other down when the other is sad by smoothing down their hair, or even giving the sad brother a hug. Sometimes, the happier of the two will go and get a favorite toy of the sad brother's and bring it to him to try and make him feel better. So, this afternoon, on the way to pick up my eldest from school, I had this "Oh how cute moment" in the van... The boys were holding hands, something that they haven't done since they were very tiny. That was when I realized that Kian was in tears and Kai was not. I am not sure, but I think that the hand holding may have been WHY Kian was in tears, but I am not certain and never will know! I asked Kai if he was hurting his brother by holding his hand like that, and Kai immediatly dropped Kian's hand and began to cry as if he were hurt, too. They are so very silly that way! Apparently, Kai had been squeezing Kian's hand or pulling his fingers because Kian quieted down almost immediatly. Kai didn't stop screaming in guilt until we pulled into the driveway. My boys can be so silly sometimes!
