Hot Lunch Date!

Posted by Vulnadia on Jan 08, 2010 at 03:23 PM Wednesday, to celebrate the start of Semester Finals, Bregon decided he very adventurously wanted to go for Chinese food. Yeppers, after checking to see that his sibs were dressed and decent, and that I wasn't wearing my PJ's or anything, he gamely suggested that we try a lunch date. So, we were off to Cheng's on Youree for lunch that day, all 5 of us. We thought we had a good gameplan. We talked about going to eat chicken and red dip on the ride over to the restaurant. When we got there, we unloaded pretty easily save for the car who decided they MIGHT fit in between us and the ramp that leads to the back kitchen door (not a parking spot by any means!) Everyone promised to be extra good, and even Kai held hands while we walked to the front door. The ladies up front were soo excited to see the babies. They only see them every 6-8 months or so because my kids don't get out much! But, they are always ALWAYS remembered and asked after, even when they aren't with us. We got lucky and were able to score the very end booth in the middle so that the kids had a great view of the restaurant. Bregon very bravely opted to sit with his brothers under the idea that Vivienne is ALWAYS very good. I ordered Sprites for the babies, taking a chance that they would behave and not to something awful with it, then headed off to get them some chicken! The plan was to use one plate to get their food, and keep the other 2 empty plates stacked underneath to make transporting easier! I couldn't imagine trying to juggle serving three plates at once at a buffet line! It worked, and I somehow made it back to the table, food in tow, without actually hearing my kids from afar or any shenanigans taking place. Hmmm... I split up the plates and dyvied up the red dip. I even remembered almond cookies and something different (crab rangoon) to try out. That was when Bregon & I both had this horrible memory come flooding through our heads about just how much Kai really LOVES their almond cookies. Kai ended up eating 8-10 cookies (we lost count after a time) before having his chicken for dessert and some corn too. Everyone else did fine and were good. Kian and Bregon were quite frightened by Kai's need to stand up and people-watch because he would get excited and start to bounce every now and then making their side of the booth a mini-mosh pit! All in all nobody screamed, nothing got broken or spilled, and best of all we did not get tossed out on our butts!!! We actually got to eat our lunch...all of us...and the babies even had ice cream. Kai turned his into a milkshake by stirring it incessantly, but it mostly stayed inside his cup! The babies gave everyone hugs as we left and I think they even will let us come back!!! Not too shabby considering we don't get to go out much anymore!!!
