An Unplanned Outing!!!

Yesterday, after the kids spent most of the day in the new wading pool for the second day running, we had decided not to try the free movie this week.
Well, that all changed about 9 last night, when the phone rang for my eldest. He gets calls so rarely!
As it turns out his best friend came back from New York early, and decided that they wanted to do the free movie en masse.
How could you tell the big boys no? They haven't seen each other since their graduation party May 22nd.
So, this morning, I somehow got everybody up, dressed and to the Boardwalk on time.
We accidentally consumed our Icees too soon, so we went back for our refills almost immediately.
The lady tried to charge Bregon .75 for his, so he brought me back the cups and I went back to the guy who told me that we get free refills and had no problems getting everything fixed!
Unfortunately, but the time I got back, the popcorn bucket was needing to be refilled, so I headed BACK to our friend at the register for more!
We somehow managed to find all the kids, and even managed to save everybody seats altogether!
Altogether, there are nine of us. Afterwards, i managed to lose my other four. i sent Bregon ahead to find them for me!
We tried once again to ride the Trolley which my kids think is a train, but it was NOWHERE to be seen for the 2nd Wednesday in a row!
So, we were unhappy. I decided that we would go and try to find NEMO accross the river.
We piled all the kids into my van somehow. Little people all got seatbelts, big people had to wing it and make do.
We popped an old Beatles Cd into the dash and headed back accross the river to the Sci-port Parking lot.
With the babies on their leashes, and the big kids well and duly frisked of anything that might melt tear or disentegrate in water, we headed accross the street in search of NEMO.
Where might Nemo live you might ask? Well, he frequents two places in town that I know of.
One is the pond in the center of the Health Unit on Creswell, the other is in the pond at the Barnwell Center.
I wasn't sure that it would even be open, but we had to try. Besides, none of the other kids had EVER been inside the Barnwell Center before. What a crime!
It's free, folks. It's also very pretty and loads of fun for little people.
Check out the art exhibits while you are in there, too and enjoy the air conditioner before you head to the dome to check out the plants in search of NEMO!!!
We were pleasantly surprised to find everything open and unlocked! Everyone is so nice there, too!
We let the little people roam free and explore. It's very much like being in a tropical jungle in there!
I used to think it was so very huge when I was a little girl and my granddaddy had his office in what was then the newly built convention center!
I used to be allowed to feed the fishies when I was very little, in fact the same size as my trio are now, so of course I had some inkling on how to find NEMO!!!
I let it be a surprise! Kian found him first, of course! He got very VERY excited to find that not only was NEMO in residence, but so was NEMO's Dad!
This is all very interesting and very VERY important to my three year olds. So they all three had a huge conversation with NEMO and his Daddy.
Then, we all made wishes at the wishing well which Vivienne discovered next.
I have a picture of all the kids climbing the tower in the observatory, too! It's a right of passage I suppose!
Next, we went out back to check out the river and the ampitheater and the fountains.
We had our pictures taken at the Pirate cut out by the river, then headed over to the dock.
We went all the way down to the river where the sidewalk "Ends" and everybody touched the water.
Then, we headed up to the spray grounds by way of the ampitheater stage!
The babies were soo hot, we had to stake a claim under the railroad bridge and take advantage of the breeze coming up off of the river.
On the way home, we all sang Strawberry Fields Forever and Penny Lane with the windows down at the top of our voices! Even the babies sang along, only they were more muppet like.
We stopped by and got the wet kiddo's some dry clothes, grabbed some lunch and headed to my house to eat.
Right now, everybody is cooling off and winding down. The older kids are all upstairs attached to Bregon's television with game controllers.
The babies are all chilling and watching Alladin.
Tomorrow, we are considering the Kids Club at the Boardwalk, but we aren't sure! Our pool misses us!
