A Field Trip Experiment

This past Wednesday marked the second day of the kid's film festival that is free at the Boardwalk movie theater.
So, feeling a bit adventurous, and wondering if anyone would dare toss us out of a kiddie showing of a kiddie movie, I decided to give movies another try after last year's fiasco.
Quick note on last year, we were actually asked to leave a matinee showing of a movie that was filled full of much older patrons who some of which were upset because we must inhabit the handicapped section due to the limo-sized stroller not being able to scale stairs.
Fast forward to this year, and I was sceptical over the situation, but willing to give it a try as we really haven't seen many of the movies being shown this year and it would get everyone out of the house and on an adventure!
So, we planned an excursion. I even posted it for all to see here on the Mommie site in the event others could meet us there and we could meet new people.
I somehow got everyone up out of bed and dressed and somewhat fed breakfast on D-day.
We even managed to leave the house on the non-procrastination schedule I had set forth, instead of the procrastination one I seemed inclined to stick to that morning!
We made it over to the boardwalk, all four kids in tow by 9:15. I even managed to park the car right next to the good door where we could just pretty much hop out and be right at the entrance to the theater.
Bregon and I worked together to get everyone unloaded in record time and that stroller assembled and ready to go, full of our diaper bag and leashes even.
There really wasn't anyone around in front of the theater, which I thought might be a good sign.
We cautiously went inside and acquired popcorn and a size extra-huge icee for good measure.
We got to the theater only to discover that a daycare was inhabiting the first row of handicapped seating, so that was out.
Thankfully, the lady told us how to find the other ramp and we managed to locate a 2nd tier of handicapped seats, YAY!
We got settled and I doled out little cups of popcorn to my minions. Kai got antsy because we were soo early, and ended up stealing my icee.
Bregon freaked out on me when he noticed Kai sucking down the icee because all of the sudden, Kai's knees were bouncing up and down in place.
I told Bregon not to worry, the icee came with free refills as did the popcorn. I dare to propose that we might be the only folks to EVER use that much icee and popcorn in one sitting.
The movie started, then promptly skipped and stopped. That gave us enough time to send Bregon back for more Icee!!!
All in all my kids did great considering it was normally their play-time. We even got to meet a new mommie who wants to meet us again with her kids!
Afterwards, we took our sugar loaded triplets out strolling. They were much impressed with the trolley which they think must surely be a train.
However, we were very disapointed to discover that the foutains would not be turned on this year so we couldn't play in the picnic area in the water as we had planned.
But, we did hit The Children's Place and I managed to find Vivienne and outfit that is very loud and cute, purse included, so that made her very happy.
All in all we had a great trip, even if the fountains aren't going to be working this year.
