Baby Name Remorse? Anyone Experienced This ?

Posted by Vulnadia on Jun 07, 2010 at 12:45 PM I've heard of buyer's remorse, but never baby name remorse! But after thinking about it, I TOTALLY understand the concept! I worked hard to give my kids their names and they each have very individual names each with different meanings but in their own ways they all match/go together. Bregon has had the hardest time with his name as most people are prone to mispronounce it, something I never even fathomed could happen (dunno why it didn't occur to me.) Most people try to give his name the long A sound in the beginning instead of the short E sound that the grammar rules would normally reflect. His name rhymes with "Egg" not "Eight" but people insist upon doing the whole Megan/Meagen thing with it for some reason. Then there are those who would give it a J sound instead of the hard G sound...I won't go into my thoughts on THAT one (it drives me batty.) Then poor Kian came long and it started again...heck they even get Kai's name wrong...(I blame it on chai tea being popular actually.) Kian is a Brittish name, their version of "John" basically...tis very common there, but not so much over here... It rhymes with "Ian" only with a K on the front...I thought it was easy, but folks try and make it soo difficult!!! Then poor Kaiden...officially he is Kaiden but he's always been a Kai...something people mistake for "Chai" as in tea...something I really don't get, yet it happens!!! I won't even get into poor baby Vivienne's name...yes I kept the french spelling... Do I regret any of their names? Heck no, not even their middle names...How about you? Did you go through a period of baby name remorse? original I Gave My Baby the Wrong Name!
