College Bound Already?

Posted by Vulnadia on Sep 01, 2009 at 03:13 PM I really thought this wouldn't come so very soon. I mean, I know we picked a true college-prep high school and all, but already? Today it happened. I know it was inevitable, but I rather believed this day would come sometime next year, when he was gearing up for his junion year of highschool. But, no, two weeks into high school, Bregon's first college recruitment letter has come in the mail. In fact, it was mailed August 29th. Talk about pre-planning...I feel like maybe I'm behind on something now because of it! He is stoked, too. That letter is telling him all about NYU in New York conveniently located in the Village... I am not used to the idea of my child being in high school much less the thought of him being set loose to roam in NYC! Wow. I mean, I'm really glad that they are courting him already, and I want him to have every available nifty neat-o college choice out there, but already? So now, Bregon is trying to figure out how to get either of his Grandfather's to fork over enough money so that he can have the means to go and visit NYC and check out NYU... My child really has a plan, and is really weighing his options...but it seems like it was just yesterday that he was playing bopper swords in the backyard with his Daddy... Now he is looking for a place to Fence and Coach and get his degree...
