Pretty Pony Problem!

Posted by Vulnadia on Aug 16, 2009 at 07:25 PM Thursday, I headed over to the consignment sale in Bossier to see what they had in for this season. I hit the jackpot with a nice Christmas present for Vivienne that is currently in the garage. Then I managed to find each of the little people a little something for now! Kian got a Thomas the Train Engine car carrier, Kaiden got a Dalmation puppet to go with his contraband "Green Elmo" that he got from Big Brother, and Vivienne got a pack of ponies that came with a bigger Stuffed Baby pony, too. It's the ponies that have caused us the most grief all week, oddly enough. Since coming to live with us, the ponies now number 6, no more, and Vivienne shall accept nothing less! This means that she is constantly keeping count of her 6 ponies and the big one of course. Yes, she can count and count well, REPEATEDLY and often. Vivienne counts when she wakes up in the morning to make sure everyone is here. She counts just before lunch to make sure that everyone gets their fair share of her lunch and then the same happens for dinner. Then she started waking up in the middle of the night...we're talking about 2-3a.m. Yep, she takes her pretty pony head count even in the dark, in the night. And of course not everyone is readily available at that hour, or able to be located for that matter! This leads to Vivienne screaming like someone is trying to hurt her making us go bounding up the stairs to her rescue. Once in the nursery we each have the daunting task of locating all of the problem-causing pretty ponies. That baby pony is always the hardest to find. One day she got left downstairs. Another day she fell behind the crib. She has also been found sleeping in Kian and Kaiden's beds respectively at different times. Vivienne doesn't mind, but she certainly expects that errant pony to be brought back to HER BED immediately! Now, it has become routine to do a pesky pretty pony headcount before bed each evening just to try and ease her mind. Hopefully, we will get to sleep tonight!
