Gross!

Posted by Vulnadia on Aug 27, 2009 at 09:43 AM Yesterday, I innocently went upstairs to let the babies out of the nursery. I was met with the MOST HORRIBLE smell EVER at the foot of my staircase, too. It was soo bad that I actually thought that the upstairs toilet had backed up or something and Bregon had forgotten to mention it or something! Oh no, it wasn't the potty...the bathroom was nice and calm and stench-free. It looked innocent enough anyways! I then decided that maybe it was Brandon's turtle that smelled soo awful...afterall, hadn't the lady at his funeral mentioned that turtles really smell after you have had them for a time? I really had to apologize to the turtle, even. He had his bath the night before and had fresh clean water and was just happy and stench-free as a lark in his tub on Bregon's dresser. It was NOT the turtle! So, with great trepidations, I unlatched the latch to the nursery and opened the nursery room door. That was the actual source of the stench, oh yes that was it. It was HORRIBLE, TOO! Vivienne's dress was all stained from where she had tried to clean her hands off from having attempted to clean up her own mess. I didn't even realize what was really even going on until I got everyone downstairs, it was soo bad. At first thought, I figured that one of them had removed their diaper and decided to finally finger paint or something. Luckily, that was not the case, though. I took everyone downstairs, grabbed fresh diapers, wipes and headed to the laundry room to draw an emergency bath. Of course Vivie was first in line due to her actually wearing the ick on her dressie. I stripped her down only to discover that her panties and diaper were actually still in place. Puzzled, I tossed them into the washing machine and set out to clean her up. As it turns out, she apparently had turned into an ick machine sometime in the middle of the night and had gone soo much that it had caked up her back and oozed out the top of her waistband of the diaper. When she had gone to climb out of her bed, it all crumbled and got on the floor just under the bed and she had tried to clean it up herself and had gotten it on her hands and wiped them on her dress... While gross and disgusting, this was workable, so I forged ahead and bathed her. From the smell, I really thought the boys would have been gross too, but thankfully that was not the case! Everyone had their emergency bath and had fresh clothes and their breakfast. I grabbed the broom, dustpan, clorox wipes and the swiffer and headed upstairs to survey the damage. Thankfully it smelled far worse than it really was and the cleanup and disinfect part went really fast and easy for once. It was super gross, but at least it was contained...I have somehow managed to escape the whole writing on the walls, eating it problem...for now!
