Do I Hear Singing???

A few weeks ago, I had this grand idea that my kids would like to watch musicals.
After all, hadn't I known the entire libretto to Sound of Music before I could really talk?
So, I set about acquiring a few kid-friendly musicals. I found a 2-disc DVD of Annie and its sequel, Cats and Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
I also managed to find video-taped versions of Wicked and Spamalot, as well.
Then we sat down one Sunday afternoon and tossed in a new movie for the kids and sat back and watched to see what would happen.
Spamalot encouraged them to play with their castle and pirate ship fleet a lot.
Cats entranced them for a few days, actually. In fact, they often fight over which movie to watch before bedtime!
Then there was Joseph. Well, they now ask for him like he is some old friend who needs to come over and play!
Vivienne quickley figured out that her friend Maggie looks exactly like Annie, and therefore Maggie is ever soo much more their favorite now. She even doesns't mind it when they call her Annie, either!
Now, through the baby monitor, we play, name that singing baby. It's hard to play, too, because they don't often sing enough of a song's lyrics to figure out whose voice belongs to who!
Somewhere along the way, the babies all learned to sing, and sing loudly and as much as possible, often at the same time!
I nearly wrecked the car laughing the other day when I caught Kai singing along to Tracy Chapman just as serious as can be!
Singing babies are seriously, seriously cute, just don't play "Name That Tune" and hope to win!
