Does This Woman Have Any Idea What She Is Asking For???

I mean, I hear it all the time from well-meaning people who say, "Oh when I have kids I want twins or more!" as if they are asking for a boy or a girl, or a toy from Santa or for their birthday. It's not that simple, and it is quite more serious than these well-meaning folk can possibly understand. I mean, pregnancy is supposed to be a happy time, a time to glow and anticipate your new arrival. Instead, most moms of multiples spend each day trying to stay pregnant, eat for 2 or more which often means gaining a minimum of 100+ pounds depending on the # of fetuses. Instead of buying baby clothes, we must decide to face possible disapointment and buy preemie clothes early, before we go on bedrest, or wait and see if we are still pregnant when we hit the "safe" mark which is usually 25 weeks for multiples...Sound early? It is. Then we have to wonder if we will safely deliver one baby, two or more babies, or have any babies at all when it's all said and done. And you mean to tell me that this woman is trying to be a baby factory until she manages to conceive multiples? I won't even go in to what happens once you have your multiples delivered, what you and your babies will go through in the NICU and afterwards providing they don't have serious health problems. I just do not understand people like this. And people dare to talk badly about Octo-mom?
