The Joys of Balloons

Posted by Vulnadia on Feb 20, 2009 at 03:36 PM Last Saturday was of course, Valentines Day. With Valentines Day, comes that nice tradition of getting the little people mylar balloons to play with. They had such a good time with them last year, really they did. But, I must say, last year's balloons lasted soo much longer somehow! I mean, the first one popped before Sunday even came! I found myself rushing out to the grocery store in search of a replacement. It seemed like such a mundane thing to be looking for, too, but boy was I wrong in my assessment! I barely could find any, and it was only after a lot of hunting that I was able to locate a replacement balloon that wasn't deflated or dying. Then, once I got it home, there was much confusion as to exactly who's balloon had popped and who the rightful owner of the new one would be. I had to let the babies fight it out amongst themselves. I did get lots of Thankyous from them all though! Oddly enough, not a week later, and all three of the balloons have been mysteriously popped. Somehow these balloons were just not as hardy as last years. Thankfully there weren't as many tears as I had expected and everyone is okay with the situation. In fact, Kian made the best out of it by using the remnants as a means to store his paci. Luckily, the babie will turn three in a month and we can have an excuse to acquire more balloons for them!
