It's The Latest Rage: Twins Are The New Black!

Posted by Vulnadia on Feb 04, 2009 at 12:29 PM I actually talk to people who look at me and mine and actually say, "I want to have twins or triplets when I get pregnant." What am I supposed to say to this? Is this a smile and nod situation, or do I dare tell them that its not all wine and roses and that multiple pregnancys are scary and dangerous for both you and your bab(ies)? I never had heard this before having my tiny trio, but you would be shocked at how much I actually do hear this. In fact, the last time I heard this, it was from the lady at the drive-thru while getting lunch for my sick child. But, then I ran accross this article, and it started all coming clear. These people really truly think this is some sort of status symbol. Oh there are many reasons that they are doing it, but the fact is, that they really are trying for multiples on purpose as if they were thinking of getting a kitten or a puppy and maybe it needing company or something. Heck, why not run to the pound and adopt several? Oh,wait, it's not that easy to adopt, and it can take years to go through making the alternatives all the more inviting.
