Losing My Mind!

Okay so on Saturday, we have already established that life for us has changed.
My children now have potential access to everything in the house. The front door, the upstairs in its entirety, everything.
Oh sure, we've child-proofed as much as we can, in as many creative ways as we can.
But I know the truth. There just isn't enough child-proofing on the market these days to contain my kids.
It would be one thing if they weren't smart, but they are. These are the kids who have tailgated in the locked bottem oven, taken a ride from the dining room chandelier and let themselves outback to play with their lonely puppy.
I know better, I really, truly do. I am in soo much trouble now it's not even funny anymore.
What happened to my wonderful bedtime routine? Oh sure, they impress everyone by gathering at the gate still when you tell them it's bedtime.
They even appear excited at the prosect of going to bed, really they do. They bound up the stairs with their upstairs feet, saying goodnight to all the folks in the portraits along the way.
But once they get upstairs and have been tucked into bed, things change. Oh yes they still are obedient don't get me wrong!
But when Kian stands with one foot on the rail his arm slung over the higher part of the crib headboard saying, "It's Night-Night TIME!!!" much like it's said, "Let's Get Ready To Rumble" then I know that I am in trouble!
We kiss them all goodnight, and turn out the light, and close the door on their innocent little faces.
Once we get downstairs, it sounds like a regular rave going on up there. There are footsteps that sound rather like a mosh pit and I begin to wonder if I really did only have three babies because now it sounds as if there are 30 up there!
It's finally Thursday, and they are just now quieting down back into their routine. Last night they went to sleep around 8 instead of the usual 6 or 630.
That really isn't bad considering they were up til midnight on Saturday, 10 on Sunday, and it's been gradually heading back down to a decent hour.
But oh my gosh, will they ever nap again? I just gave up on Monday and we went to the market instead after picking up Bregon from school.
Yesterday 2 of them napped for about 30 minutes, but Kian didn't. I had some crabby babies all week, let me tell you!!!
I suppose they really aren't babies anymore, though are they? They are 3. I just wish I had seen this one coming!
