Poor Kian

Posted by Vulnadia on Mar 06, 2009 at 11:29 AM Poor Kian, is just not having a happy week, poor dear! Today, I had to extract yet another forbidden object from his person. I thought I was being smooth, too. I was helping him to the dinner table for lunch, and helped him place all of his stuff around his plate setting to make him happy. I even sat Tedd in the swing for him. But then he realized that something was missing from the spread. Yep, Mum had noticed and snagged Daddy's shiny red lighter that he had somehow managed to squirrel away. How do you explain that while you understand that he feels closer to Daddy while he is away by snagging his stuff, that some of Daddy's things just aren't safe or appropriate for a tiny good little guy to have and play with? I mean, he doesn't have any clue what that little shiny red mechanism does, but I do and that's why I must take it away from him. But he is so sad. Almost an hour later, and he is STILL sad over it and mad at me. I can't blame him. He must think I am the meanest Mum ever! I mean, yesterday I refused to allow him to take his plate of applesauce to bed with him and made him cry then. Now, I refuse to allow him the comfort of his Daddy's cool little red gadget called a lighter... I really do worry that they find me the meanest Mum ever, I do. But I would be a worse Mum if I let him keep that lighter, now wouldn't I? reply on the lighter, he would accept no other substitute...tried a cap, tshirt & nothing would do!!!!! problem with his applesauce was he wanted to save it (on his plate) for later in his bed!!! which would have put tedd & his other stuffed animals atrisk (tedd does not wash well- he got a bath on accident about 3 months ago & turned the water a nasty murkey green color...& dried crusty no matter what i did..he fluffed after a few weeks, but i worried the whole time!) he has been sneaking cookies saved from snacktime & other things upstairs at night while we are gone & big brother is taking care of him...& he has crumbs EVERYWHERE!!!!! am afraid he is going to start a bug collection next!!!! he's soo sweet & cute though!!!! which makes me wanna cry when he is sad!!!! ~Mimi
