Simple & Cheap Thrill For My Trio

Posted by Vulnadia on Nov 27, 2009 at 01:13 PM It may sound silly, but anyone with a preschooler knows how irritable and irrational kids can get when they need a change in surroundings or something to break up the monotony of their day. We don't get out much for obvious reasons, but sometimes we just have to do something! I made a startling discover the other day on the way back home from a very rare Target excursion. You see, Mum now knows where a real xmas tree lot is... A pretty one, complete with lights, and non unlike the one that USED to be in front of Murrells in the parking in the no-man's land when we were little... We were driving down Youree Drive when I noticed it and managed to point it out to the kids by the time we were stopped at the redlight. My trio went wild waiving Hello to the Christmas trees waiting to be adopted in that little lot in front of the drugstore. So it gave me an idea. The next time the kids needed an outing and I didn't really need to go anywhere or rather I didn't really have much time to do anything but take a quick drive, I could use this info to my advantage! My kids LOVE LOVE LOVE to drive by and wave at the Christmas trees in that lot!!!! What an easy outing and great idea for a treat for my trio. I could run down to the corner store and get them Icees from their "Icee-man". Then on the way back home, we could take the long way and a drive by the Christmas tree lot to wave at the trees. For a finale, we could top it off with a drive past the pretty firestation on Line to wave at the fire trucks while they have their afternoon bath and I suspect that very VERY soon the lights will be up if they aren't already for an added treat! For about $6.50, I have discovered a cheap CHEAP thrill for 3yr olds and it gives them their much needed change of location and pace, and me a break too!!!!!
