Things Are Getting Curiouser & Curiouser

Posted by Vulnadia on Sep 06, 2009 at 07:40 PM I'm super interested to hear what comes out of my son's classes with all of this Back to School Presidential Address business. Bregon already has witnessed what a HUGE problem the general student body has suffered since the campaign. Some inapropriate issues are being brought to light in classes that have stemmed from this most recent campaign, in areas that are really sort of surprising. It's in the halls and lunchroom, on the playground so to say, and it makes it difficult for the kids to get along, no matter how hard they might try. At Bregon's school, he is taught to question all possible sides of an issue, not to take things at face value and to see all aspects of the spectrum. I seriously doubt (and hope) that this speech will have the blown out of proportion effects that are projected to occur at this school, but I could be wrong. But I bet that they will ask okay, how can I be a better student? The superintendant has gone and already made it easier for me to get an A or pass my classes. He even went as far as to say that it was to make me feel better about myself, without making it any harder to achieve my grade and without anything to really back up that A. Bregon's school is having trouble complying with those missing technical courses for that newfangled technical degree program for the academically challenged. We dont have course offerings such as shopclass or wood working at the school. I mean, really should they be forced to give up their Latin class or Italian class, or perhaps our Fine Arts class to make room for those needed electives? After all, students are still are floating in t-buildings even after the new addition at Bregon's school. They STILL don't have enough room for the courses offered in the first place! Then, you have to consider the potential new attitudes in the wake of these changes. It will become what can you do for me. What can you give me as a student to make my academic life easier so that I can get that diploma at any cost. Never mind that it might not get me anywhere because it was basically given to me in the first place with no academia to back it up with. I am afraid that things are going to digress and get very interesting.
