All Wet!

Posted by Vulnadia on Aug 02, 2009 at 02:29 PM Yesterday, Husband and I were out working on our building at the fair grounds in all of those scary storms. We actually had to wait until the storms let up before we could leave, too! Then, we discovered that one of our doors had swollen from the rain and had to be screwed shut into place before we could secure our building and go home for the day. Poor Husband had to go out in all the ick and do the dirty work himself which meant he got soaked to the skin quite literally. We rushed home trying to get there before Bregon would put the babies to bed so we could play with them and see them a bit. When we got there, Kian was very distressed to find that his Daddy was all wet! Kian became VERY concerned about all of this because he knows that after his bath, he must dry off quickly lest he catch a cold and get sick! Not wanting his Daddy to get sick, he began to ask questions and gently prod about drying off. "Are you wet, Daddy?" he very subtly asked. "Yes, Kian, I got caught out in all the rain!" said Daddy. He touched Daddy's shirt and proclaimed it "Wet!" He touched Daddy's shorts and proclaimed them, "Wet!" He touched Daddy's socks and proclaimed them "Wet!" He even checked his Daddy's hair! Then he very sweetly told him he needed to get "Dry NOW!" He was very serious and firm in his request, too. "You should change your shirt, Daddy." he said. "You should change your shorts, Daddy, they are wet!" He went through everything, even offering the use of the hair dryer to dry Daddy's hair. Then he climbed up on the couch next to Daddy (he didn't want to sit in his lap because he didn't want to get wet himself) and said, "Do you need a towel, Daddy?" Daddy smiled and said, "No, thank you, not right now!" And Kian said, "But you are all wet! Do you need MY TOWEL, Daddy?" It was soo sweet because Kian tries to always squirrel away an extra towel during bath time just in case he needs it for later. Kian is a natural-born hoarder like that! Daddy just shook his head. So, Kian, who was very frustrated and overly concerned offered him the only other solution he could think of saying, "Daddy you should get in the dryer and dry off now!" Even Vivienne and Kai found this one funny! Apparently the kids have discussed doing just that before!
