Bregon's Shenanigans

Posted by Vulnadia on Jan 27, 2009 at 11:05 AM Something so very silly happened last night while husban and I were innocently at rehearsal. After Bregon put the babies to sleep, and finished his homework, he determined that he had nothing to watch on television, so he had a bright idea. He had some dinner, then headed upstairs to CLEAN OUT HIS CLOSET! Now I ask you, what sort of 14 year old decides that it's a good idea to clean out his very packed and scary closet all of his own volition??? They don't, is the actual answer, but mine for whatever reason, swears up and down that he was. What really happened? We will probably never know, but the incident was so funny and silly. It reminds me of my favorite quote from the Tom Stoppard play, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, "Have you ever thought of yourself as dead, lying in a box with a lid on it?" Yep, my child decided to clean up his closet or his room or however his story goes. But he ran into a tiny problem. He got very sleepy doing this rather boring job, and he fell asleep. He fell asleep with his head in a box. This wasn't just any box either. There was a reason he woke up an hour later to this weird shushing, hissing noise right next to his head. Apparently he was out pretty cold, because he didn't notice the noise for quite some time. What had happened was that he had fallen asleep in a box full of green hairspray from haunts from years past. Being a kid, he apparently didn't box his green hairspray up with the top on, and his head had drifted on top of the spray nozzle and the hissing noise was the lovely sound of green hairspray coating the crown of his head and turning his hair a nice pea green color. In a panic, he woke up to discover what had really happened. His hair was green and he knew that it is against school rules to go to school with unnaturally colored hair. Which brings us to the big question of the evening. What's a boy to do? He called husband in a panic over his situation. He was met with a nice, "Why not go and shower and use shampoo and get the green stuff out of your hair so you can go to school on the morrow?" Bright idea, huh? We came home to Bregon in the shower frantically scrubbing his hair. It was, in fact, very very green. Also, he has this nice burn in the center of his head where the nozzle burned from his laying against it the way he was. But, the green did come out, and he was able to go to school today. But the question still remains. Was this all a ploy and some convoluted attempt at getting to stay home from school today? Truth or Story? You be the judge! I'm afraid we shall never know for certain! reply it would have been hard for him to have burned himself in that spot is the only thing - its at the very top center of his head-if he were standing up that is...apparently it was caused by the spray part of the nozzle- which must have been pretty strong stuff, but its at least 2 years old, maybe more cause that stuff was donated...eek! & i think it was the glow in the dark kind to boot... but i will always wonder...what would possess a 14 yr old to go upstairs & volunatarily clean out his closet? especially one that is a catch all...its huge...literally could fit a twin bed in there...twice depthwise...then to have the misfortune to fall asleep like that...i mean, nod off & end up drowsing in a box?? tee hee hee... my 17 yr old friend who rides with us to & from play rehearsal said that it sounded like he had something due tomorrow at school that he didnt do...lol...but i checked, & its all good so it may have been innocent...who knows! only my kid would get into a situation like this, though! ~mimi
