Those Last Few Days

Okay, this isn't very funny at all. The Magnet Applications are being accepted NOW!!! And I want to turn ours in!
But, in order to be able to turn them in, you must attach your child's latest standardized test scores (which Kaiden had managed to bite off a very obvious chunk off of each corner) and a copy of the latest report card which covers the first half of the school year.
That's the problem, really. I was able to successfully get copies of those test scores run off to where you can't really tell that Kai has consumed much of it at all. I even was able to white out the scribbles he left documenting his moment, too.
But it's the report card that is driving me nuts. We don't have it yet. Oh yes, the last nine weeks was over last Friday and I know grades were turned in this past Monday.
But, the silly powers that be decided that it would be fun to take this Friday as an inservice day with Monday being MLK day and all, and take a four day weekend.
Normally, we would have report cards but because of this lovely four day weekend, WE DON'T!
Now we won't see them until Tuesday afternoon! The waiting and torture is KILLING ME!!!!
He doesn't need much to get in, really, but he could have flunked out entirely and forged my signature on all those telltale progress reports, really he could have.
But, usually I get follow-up calls if that turns out to be the case. Usually teachers want more than just your signature on them, they like to talk to you about these things.
I have heard nothing. So I don't know if I should trust him or not. I found myself asking a fellow cast member last night (who happens to be 17 and in the same school district) when he gets his.
Either the kids are conspiring against me, or Bregon really is telling the truth. Report cards will not be issued until Tuesday.
Just Ducky, isn't it? Having to live with the suspense all weekend. I even had the paperwork ready to go and all pristine and pretty and the same color pen waiting for my child's signature on the paperwork.
But, 'til Tuesday, I suppose. I must wait. We must wait. THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME!
