Pirates, Oh My!

Posted by Vulnadia on Sep 13, 2009 at 10:55 PM Last Saturday, in an act of desperation, Bregon decided to try and quell the sibling trio uprising by putting in something he thought that they would really enjoy. After all, he loved that movie as a child, and it is in fact a musical, which they adore! So, into the DVD player went The Pirate Movie, a parody of The Pirates of Penzance by Gilbert & Sullivan. Boy did they ever love this movie! It has kept Kaiden mesmerized for literally days upon end. Now the babies each fight over Kian's favored Pirate Man toys and who gets custody of the Pirate ship fleet. (Yes we have an armada!) Poor Bregon found himself cornered and goaded into making each of the babies a sword made of sticky tape and Icee straws so that they could practice their "Fencing" skills and sword fight! And to make things even funnier, it has to go upstairs with them each and every night now, they ask for it BY NAME! This means that I have been having dreams about being in productions of the original, being in attendance at productions of it, and even being in charge of the productions themselves while my children are cast within it! I suppose there could be worse things for a bunch of three year olds to learn and to run around singing. After all, how many cute little boys do you know that can go around singing that "It is in fact a glorious thing to be the pirate king!"?
