Urban Legend: Kids & Gumball/Claw Machines-It DOES Happen

Posted by Vulnadia on Aug 15, 2010 at 08:25 PM You hear about urban legends all the time, but Tuesday night at dinner, our party was privy to something extraordinairy. We got to see one in action for real...sadly, due to our haunt experience, none of us realized what was going on for about 15 minutes or so... We didn't know what spurned Drew to mention the "Help me" creature that was suddenly the topic of discussion, but towards the end of the conversation, we realized that the "Help me" cries were actually real and that we were hearing them right then and there.... An old friend looked up, and very matter of factly mentioned that if only this child would let go of the ball, her arm would come out of the gumball machine... Yeppers, we actually got to see someone's child get themselves caught in the gumball machine... You always hear about the kid who does, but I know that none of us at the table had EVER seen it in action... Sadder still, at first we had thought that she had tried to crawl into the claw machine which might have actually turned out worse! Yes, two firefighters happened to be eating at the restaurant and were able to convince her to let go of the gumball and they got her arm out safe and sound... So, have any of you ever had your child get their hand caught in the gumball machine or try and crawl into the claw machine? I mean, you always hear about, I actually had written totally off as an urban legend!
