In Just One Month

Posted by Vulnadia on Jul 22, 2010 at 02:08 PM It was just a month ago that my trio tested the second time for ECE and developmental disabilities (something you have to do for good measure when you have higher order multiples to ensure that they don't end up far behind or stuck in k-5 for years!) They learned soo many things during that testing session that they came home seeing the world a different way, and since have picked up soo very much! I had to get them to change some of their report when we went back yesterday, too. In the past month, both Kian and Kaiden have obtained and maintained their potty powers. They even are keeping their night-night pants dry or very nearly dry, learning to wake up and ask to go potty in the night if they need to go which is a huge step for any kid their age. They look at stories differently now, too. Kaiden quizzes us the way teacher quizzed him during testing on what we see in the stories and then gives us his answers afterwards. All three of the kids have opened up socially and at home with each other during their playtime. They are verbalizing things more where they used to just be symbiotic as a trio unit (they didn't have to talk to play together they just automatically fill in the blanks with what is missing.) I almost wonder what would happen if they were to retest today on the things they tested for a month ago, but the testing stands as originally done with a few minor toileting amendments. I am relieved because they will go into 4yr old ECE with IEP in place and that will help us all. I cannot wait to see how fast they pick everything up once in the classroom if they learned soo much from just a few hours of teaching time!
