A Visit To Renzi

Posted by Vulnadia on May 17, 2009 at 12:52 PM Thursday was the last day of the school year for the Renzi Arts & Education Center on Egan. This was also the last day for two of its students who are leaving for Japan this summer. So, of course everyone decided it was an occasion for a party!!! We wanted to say goodbye to the girls, and the babies wanted to play with their friend Maggie (who coincidentally looks just like your idea of what Annie should look like in real life.) So, I very bravely decided to RSVP to the party and pack up and go! We were late getting there because, after dropping Bregon off for class, I wanted to run home and tidy the babies up a bit before bringing them in front of people. I made the mistake of letting Bregon swirl their Icees with Peach & Strawberry, so Kian promptly lay down for his diaper change forgetting about his Icee not being in a sippy cup, and spilled it all over himself and the bedroom carpet. I suppose that was Murphy's Law kicking into play for me, what do you think? I managed to get everyone cleaned up with their hair brushed and looking somewhat decent for a time, and I even managed to get the Icee out of the carpet, although I seemed to have dug up something else that is worse than red Icee... But somehow, we managed to make it back to Renzi in decent time. My kid of course had always wanted to go inside, but never had that they could remember. So of course Kian ran for the fish tank to verify that Nemo was in fact residing at Renzi. Kaiden took off up the front stairs immediately, seeming to know exactly where he was headed. Vivienne thought Kai had a great idea, and followed, so I grabbed Kian and we followed. As it turns out, Kai had some weird Mr. Chuck radar, and had managed to find his cartooning classroom first off. He and Vivienne seated themselves at the table in the center of the room, took up pencils, and began to draw for Chuck, who was super amused and honored to be graced with such attentive students, even if they are only 3. Next, Kian followed his brother into the wire-sculpture lab. All I heard was this huge, "OH WOW!" from Kian. Bregon quickly made Kian a little wire sculpture guy to play with before they were joined by Kaiden and Vivienne who had to have guys made for them, too! Next, we headed back downstairs to meet up with our friend Maggie and play for a time. The babies enjoyed cake and quite a few hotdogs (they had dinner there, Thanks Ms Amy!!!!) They explored the garden outside, and enjoyed running around and playing with bubbles with all of the Renzi kids, too! We had such a great adventure. The babies want to know if they can have permission to go to film camp there!
