Graduation Trip 2009

This year marked the last graduation of the children of one of my best friends who happens to live in the Houston area.
Last year, Bregon and I drove to Dallas, picked up my best friend, and drove down to surprise the 2nd youngest daughter for her graduation.
So of course we new better than to try and make it a huge surprise this year when Kat's youngest graduated.
Of course Lori knew we would be there with bells on and presents in tow!
Husband had kept our triplets all last summer for our overnight trips to the Dallas Summer Musicals and my prop/costume buying trips and had had no problems at all, so i didn't anticipate any this year.
We procrastinated leaving town, and I spent some time on this forum taking care of everying or at least attempting to out of some weird sense of duty, so I was very late even getting dressed much less packing for my trip!
I decided to leave after the babies went to bed to make it much easier on Husband.
It worked like a charm, save for the fact that the kids screamed and yelled for Daddy when we closed the door for the night!
I thought we were in business because they would be soo happy to have him all to themselves for the next several days.
Boy did I forget a tiny little factor in the equation, though! Poor Husband was in for quite a ride!
He did okay through Thursday night. Bregon and I made it to Dallas to our friend's house with no fanfair.
Friday, while we were in the car on the way to Houston, Husband called to tell me all about the triplets new milestone.
I will share that one in another blog as it's much to lengthy of a story and deserves treatment and attention all of its own!
I calmed poor mortified Husband down, and he went to cook dinner and put the baby tyrants to bed for the night.
They managed to get up no less than four times during the night, looking for me each time.
Saturday morning, they decided to try and escape the backyard and go looking for me.
Luckily Husband found them trying to crawl under the doggie-dug hole in time and was able to keep them in the yard and distracted with bubbles.
Then the unthinkable happened. He ran out of bubbles and I had the van so he couldn't run and get some more.
I called Sister who was more than happy to go after bubbles for us. Husband called during lunch in a panic because they were out of applesauce too.
I called Sister and added applesauce to the shopping list as well. Thank you soo much for helping us out!!!
My wonderful Sister went and found bubbles and procurred applesauce too and went to deliver it.
She went inside and the kids immediately got into the applesauce and started devouring it.
They somehow managed to kill off 2 whole packages of single serves that afternoon.
Kaiden snagged one container of bubbles when nobody was looking and broke it open.
Of course Kian wanted some so they fought over the bottle which promptly spilled.
Poor Sister had to distract babies while frazzled Husband cleaned everything up.
The babies finger painted applesauce and cupcake icing on the dining room chairs during all of this.
Lucky for husband, we came home early last night to save the day!
