The Scariest Thing In My World

It finally happened the other morning. Somehow, while re-babyproofing the nursery, huband overlooked a very common thing.
Oh sure, he screwed the windows shut to keep the babies from being able to climb out on to the very fun and inviting looking flatroof that I hope one day shall become a playroom addition.
He even re-hung the closet door and made it difficult to open without the door-knob covers that, yes, of course, are in place currently!
You see, the closet has this lovely, very inviting, very interesting ladder , just ripe for the climbing inside of it.
This very inviting ladder leads right up to the attic accsss panel! What fun, and how inviting for my little daredevil, Kaiden!
Husband and my eldest even removed 99% of the toys from the nursery so that nobody could hurt themselves or be tempted to hurt someone else.
But, he forgot one thing. He forgot to screw the dresser into the wall.
Normally this wouldnt be an issue, as it isn't even a very big dresser, but it happens to be a heck of a lot bigger than it looks.
In fact, it's a heck of a lot heavier than it looks, too! I wish I hadn't had to find this out the hard way!
Friday morning, I got up about 7 and went to fix breakfast for babies as is their new habit to wake up and want out of the nursery at the crack of dawn, now.
I innocently and unknowingly made waffles and set everything out, ready for hungry little people, and set the television to the favored channel.
I went upstairs, and I realized that Vivienne was suddenly howling unusually loudly. It was her, "Timmie's stuck in the well" howl, the one nobody wants to ever hear coming from their child.
I took a deep breath, and opened the nursery door, to find the scariest site I think that I have ever seen.
At first it seemed surreal, because Kian and Kai were crouched off center of the nursery, with their heads turned sideways, trying to watch the upside down television, really liking their new-found favorite show, "Justice League."
Then, I realized that the television shouldn't be sideways or on the floor for that matter. In fact, it shouldn't even be working.
I couldnt find Vivienne. Then I realized that her howling was coming from underneath the dresser.
Somehow, she appeared to have been trying to climb the pulled out drawers, and had managed to pull the whole thing over on top of her, television and all.
I still do not know how the television missed falling on top of her. Thankfully, it is the smallest one that they make and not very heavy. Did you know it apparently is very sturdy, considering the abuse it took?
Anyways, I had to try and get that dresser off of Vivienne somehow. It took me a second to realize that the cables for the television were keeping me from being able to pick up the dresser.
I had to move them (they refused to unplug due to the box covers on the outlet.
I finally managed to get the dresser off of the baby. That thing is soo heavy! Thankfully, she is okay.
She had somehow pinched her leg inside the drawer which had closed when the dresser had fallen.
She has a bruise line on the front and back of her calf, poor dear, but thankfully nothing was broken.
She is just a bit scared and now weary of all things having to do with the dresser!
This had to be one of the alltime scariest moments to date for me as a Mom!
You can bet that I had husband screwing the whole dresser into that windowsill so it won't budge an inch anymore!
it was a scary scary week for me last week!!!!! with their april fools antics, then their rearranging their bedroom furniture, & then pulling the dresser over on top of vivienne...today i had to take the rest of the silver out of the drawers in the kitchen....just in case...they were perusing the flatware, & althought butter knives are dull, they can still do some damage.....
i am hoping for a better week, but am having doubts in attempting to stay positive!!!!!!
arrrgggghhhhh!
