Clan Foaming Feet

Today was back to school for my eldest and of course my trio knew enough to take advantage of the very relaxed Mumsy.
It started about 3 this morning when Vivienne woke up screaming bloody murder...again...and needed to be held, loved then put back into bed and covered up then left alone!
Geesh! Then her wailing started back up at a quarter til 8, and I really thought something was wrong.
Turns out she wasn't even out of bed yet. In fact she had managed to actually wake up her brothers with the whole ordeal and NOTHING was wrong with her from what I could tell!
Lovely way to start my morning, really it was quite pleasant. She took off as soon as I put her down and ran for the stairs.
She got about midway down before she decided that she just didn't like Kian coming down behind her and she apparently wished he would wait til she got to the bottom of the stairs before starting down himself.
So, she let out that horrid awful wail of hers AGAIN and I had to carry her down the stairs and go back up for Kai who didn't particularly want to be awake at all and had tried going back to sleep to no avail.
When we all got dowstairs, she was still standing in the same spot in the hallway howling like a banshee.
She sat in my lap for a full 30 minutes before she finally quieted down enough to realize that she had missed breakfast.
She turned the screaming button off enough for me to sit her in her seat at the table and get the boys changed and settled happily.
I thought it might be safe to start working, so i crept off to my bedroom to fire-up the computer.
I had just put in my password when the wailing went off again. This time she came running to the gate so that I got to hear it in stereo with the echo from the hallway and stairwell included.
She wanted a change of shoes, but none of the shoes I could find would do for her. I finally got her to go barefoot and sent her back into the living room to play.
After all that wailing, I heard her giggling in the living room. I figured that maybe this was a good sign.
Well, it was a sign allright, but not necessarily a good one. Nope, she had climbed up on a dining room chair and helped herself to the contents of my pass thru and kitchen sink.
The gleeful noises were coming from the fun she was having by being chased around the dining room, living room, and kitchen while trailing contraband dishsoap behind her.
She even helped Kai try it out as hair gel, which for naturally curly hair is really a bad idea.
Everyone was nice and sticky from the soap war, and then there was the issue of how to clean up soap off of the floor without causing a huge slip hazard and bubble foam problem.
Well, a roll of paper towels later, most of the slippery part was up or so I had thought.
They had managed to waste an entire new bottle of dish soap, too. Wanna know how far it will go if you drizzle it around the house? Nevermind, you really don't want to know.
I don't think you can properly measure it, either, because once it becomes wet, it expands of course!
I tried to dry-mop as much of it up as I could without allowing the leftover soap to lather.
It was mostly successful, but very very slippery until it dried, which took a long time for obvious baby reasons.
All the kids wanted was their lunch at this point, and of course to be taken to the park.
But, soap is sticky and manages to entice every dust and dirt particle for blocks to stick to any and all exposed parts of your body when wearing it.
So, I had to stop everything in my day and have an emergency bath. What fun...at least I had't any need for more soap I suppose!
I managed to get everyone bathed. Vivienne was first and sat down after drying off and getting dressed and let loose with that wail again, this time wanting her shoes.
She didn't stop crying until the boys were bathed, dressed and at the table having lunch. I guess she realized she was missing out...who knows.
By now, it was time to go and pick Bregon up from school. I grabbed the juicecups, juice and diapers & wipes and headed out the door.
Lucky them, the children followed or I might have forgotten them (just kidding but you probably know what I mean!)
I managed to get them into the car and us all up to the school somehow. Poor Bregon had to listen to them all wail as we passed First Baptist Playground on the way to Renzi.
I was nice and took them to the playground after I dropped Bregon off. I am not that mean!
It was there that it happened. It's a silly thing, too. It was hot, and not as windy today, so Kai immediatly got into the water fountain.
He managed to find himself a stray water bottle and had a blast filling and emptying it, sometimes at his sibling's expense.
Well, apparently they had had enough of getting wet because while my back was turned, they took Kai's bottle and dumped the contents all over Kai's head.
it was great to finally get to meet you the other day!!!!!
oh my goodness...if we had cameras we would be in business!!!! they STILL use the cabinet next to the fridge as a play house...they even go in & shut the door behind them- they can all fit back in there, too..
oh the stuff they do when you go to the bathroom, too...just have to look at my laptop as a reminder...but i finally fixed my backspace key....
i'm kinda worried cause i think i'm about to take on a new job in addition to my others...which should make it interesting....
but we shall see!!!
my floor is STILL sticky....am hoping to be able to safely mop in small patches tomorrow!!
